The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who want to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other options on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through an efficient.
It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt as well as pet hair and poop with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well, but this is something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively rapid.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other difficult-to-access spots. The side brush can be stretched to extend to the floor, close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it must make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price, but comes with a large selection of smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and includes an array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. robotic hoovers is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that allows you to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which has a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate floorplan map that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair of pets. It was able capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was in the process of finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't contain multiple maps, which could be a pain for homes that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, but it comes with some distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base has a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
